CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Department for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, with regards to their different courses.
False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are offered at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a three-year duration.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites
These courses begin at NCV level 2 as well as the minimum need would then be Grade nine certificate with a pass in Mathematics.
At the time the student finishes NCVLevel two, they would then have attained a grade ten certificate. NCV Level 3 would be grade 11 and NCV Level four website is grade twelve.
NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, being comparable to a National Senior Certificate (NSC).
Grade nine is check here on NQF level 1. Our NCV programmes start NCV level 2 and that is equivalent to an NQF level 2.
On which kind of students are fitted to these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that standard education is just not necessarily the one way of becoming an artisan or starting to be certified therefore if a student knows from an early age what their interests are, the NCV programme is really properly suited for that student.
False Bay TVET College will assist the student to become qualified in his field of interest. Students who want to become entrepreneurs will also have access to their Centre of Entrepreneurship on the Westlake Campus.
